Corvettes on the Bay
Corvettes on the Bay 2018
Pacific Coast Corvette’s annual Corvette Car Show is always one of the top events to attend and this year was no exception. RVC was represented by a group of 5 returning attendees. We were more than pleased to see the sun, breathe the fresh air and feel the cool breeze. The drive from Medford was enjoyable – not too much traffic and hwy 42 allowed us to cruise along Corvette Style.
Friday night was the usual barbeque held at Bastendorff State Park. The PCC Members hosted the meal filled with hot dogs, hamburgers, lots of salads and of course their yummy homemade desserts. (One really needs to start at the dessert table.) This year the weather was kind to us; typically it is cold and windy and sometimes foggy not this time. We had sunshine, a cool breeze and best of all – no smoke. Also it was great to see some old friends from around the Pacific Northwest.
As customary, the Car Show was held at Ken Ware Chevrolet in North Bend. Ken and his wife Joy are great sponsors to the club and are always involved in the event. This year Ken did the barbequing, Joy served the desserts and they both were involved in the Poker Run. Ah!! The Poker Run! It is one of the highlights to the event. They have us traveling all over the countryside and it is a good thing we had directions since at times we had no idea where we really were.
The Show had a number of outstanding Corvettes making it hard to choose the winners. Don and Sandy Silva won the “Earliest Entry” Award. AND our own DAVE GUCHES won the Best of Show with his beautiful Red C7 Grand Sport. Special Congrats to Dave.
We finished the weekend activity off by having dinner together at Brickstone Restaurant. Good food, wonderful service and great friends – a fun time for all.
