WELCOME LINDA HALLECKSON, NEWEST RVC MEMBER
Linda Halleckson, RVC's newest member, isn't bashful -- at least about her new car. .
"I'm driving my dream car," says Linda. "I traded a Jag for my Corvette and this is the car I've always wanted," she adds.
"I drove down to visit my mother after I got the Corvette and she thought it looked 'intimidating'; I never got that kind of reaction with the Jag," Linda says with a smile.
Linda is the proud owner of a 2008 black coupe that she purchased from Graham Baker at Airport Chevrolet in Medford. You can't help but notice the enthusiasm she has for her new car -- it's written all over her face.
Linda is also the owner of Home Away From Home, a full service pet spa located in Grants Pass.
RVC, FALL CLASSIC PROMOTED AT MEDFORD CRUISE

Under the much appreciated shade of a giant oak tree, RVC and the Third Annual Fall Classic All Chevy Car and Truck Show were on display during the 23rd Annual Medford Cruise.
"We had a great spot," said Fall Classic Co-Chair Dan Richards. "The Medford Cruise folks were so gracious to waive their vendor fee for us -- and then they gave us a great location." RVC members Bob and Mary Kush, Dave and Karen Roeber, Tony and Diane Wiggins, Dave Stickland and Helen Jacobson joined Richards at the RVC tent as the group talked with car owners and the public about the upcoming Fall Classic.
"We talked to a ton of people about the Fall Classic and we had some folks approach us about joining RVC," Richards said. "We got a lot of positive feedback about the Fall Classic and Skills USA, the program the Fall Classic supports."
Three Eagle Point High School students worked at the tent on Saturday, talking about Skills USA and the impact the program has had on them and their futures. "It was clear to see people were impressed when they spoke to the Skills students -- those kids are sharp, they're heading in a good direction and they're very appreciative of RVC's efforts to support their program," Richards added.
Fall Classic flyers were handed out to Chevy owners and Fall Classic t-shirts, dash plaques and posters were sold throughout the weekend.
The Third Annual Fall Classic will be held at Medford's Airport Chevrolet on September 20th.

SCHMIDT FAMILY VINEYARD CAR SHOW
JUNE 15, 2008
Father’s Day in Southern Oregon always means that there are car related activities abound. – 2008 was no exception. Medford had the weekend events surrounding the Medford Cruise; Grants Pass had the Elks Car Show on Saturday and the Schmidt Family Vineyard Car Show on Sunday. RVC members could be found at all the events.

Seventeen of the members ventured out to the First Annual Classic Car Show at Schmidt Family Vineyard where they enjoyed a fine barbeque, tasted a bit of wine and had wonderful conversations with members and non members alike.
The weather was perfect for the event and the grounds were beautiful. There were 61 vehicles in this first ever event and everyone enjoyed showing off their vehicles and learning about the other cars there.
Day Trip to King Estate Winery and Covered Bridge Tour in Cottage Grove
May 31, 2008
Saturday, May 31st, started at the Sunny Valley Covered Bridge (also known as the Grave Creek Bridge built in 1920) where 9 Vettes gathered to have a fun filled day of wine, food and a little history fun of the Covered Bridges in Cottage Grove. Covered bridges have been part of Oregon History for over 150 years. Of the once 150 bridges that were built only 53 are still standing.
The Zumwalt's left the Sunny Valley Covered Bridge about 9:30 and proceeded to miss the on ramp North (Gary said he was distracted because his wife was talking to him) but he flipped a U'ee and we were on our way North to the King Estate Winery.
Once at King Estate we gathered around their tasting bar and enjoyed a variety of their fine wines. I think we left some wine for the other guest but a few of the members came home with some bottles of King Estate Wine. We were seated for lunch and we all enjoyed a delicious lunch from the restaurant.
We were back on the road for the Covered Bridge tour after lunch and visited about 5 bridges. We stopped at the Mosby Covered Bridge, built in 1920 and had an assortment of desserts and a drawing for a gift. The winners were Julie and Don Hoskins guests from Jacksonville. They live in the Applegate Valley and drive a C6.
Our day ended with new friendships and lots of fun and laughter about 5 P.M. A good time was had by all.
White City Memorial Day Parade
May 26, 2008
On Monday May 26th, 11 Rogue Valley Corvettes enthusiasts showed their love for community and our veterans. We met at Abby’s Pizza in White City and out came the flags and decorations for the cars. We were led to the staging area by the Packs.

The White City Parade Committee provided pizza and water to the entrants while they waited for the parade to commence.
Steve and Madelon carried Miss Rogue Valley in their convertible and Bill and Candy carried a very special young princess, their granddaughter Cassandra.

People lined the streets in White City to watch. We only had to go 1.9 miles but it took over an hour to make the parade lap. When we completed the parade several of our cars drove through the VA Domiciliary and thanked the veterans outside for their service.
Steve and Madelon led us through the back roads of Eagle Point to Shady Cove where we all enjoyed Mexican food on the river. Dan and Ruby arrived on one of his alternate vehicles (motorcycle.) It was really great to see them both.
We all enjoyed a great day and a special thank you to all of our club members who are veterans and all the veterans that fought for our freedom.
God Bless America
