10/1/2009OUR BEST FALL CLASSIC YET
September 19th dawned bright and clear and the thought of another “Fall Classic” was on everybody’s mind. Many of us arrived at 6:30 AM that morning to get things set up for the Show. We had a good turn out the previous night at the Hospitality Suite and were anxious to get started on the event.
As our members gathered at Airport Chevrolet to take care of their assigned tasks the event took on the look of a well planned military operation. Everyone knew what had to be done and just did it. By the time the first participants showed up, all was ready for them, our club cars were parked, our vendors set up and our best event yet was under way.
We had 60 pre-registered cars, trucks and Corvettes and when all was counted we had 110 entrants in all classes. Folks showed off their cars and also participated in Raffles, a Silent Auction and 50/50 Drawing. The “Fall Classic” raised over $6000 for our selected charity - Skills USA in Josephine, Klamath and Jackson Counties, thanks to everyone in attendance and our sponsors.
The feedback we received from attendees indicated that they enjoyed the show and that the vast majority of those present promised to return next year to what we hope will be an even bigger and better one.
A word of thanks is due to the personnel at Airport Chevrolet. Without them we would not be able to host this car show. In particular we would like to thank the following individuals: Dave Mills, Owner, Greg Mills, General Manager, Ralph Emerson, General Sales Manager and Larry LaVADA, Parts Manager.
Please go to the “gallery” section of our website to view pictures of the event taken by our member photographers, Teena and Dan Baker.
