11/1/2009November President's LetterThanksgiving is a time for all of us to reflect on the things we are most thankful for. For me – it is my family and friends. This is also a time for us to think about giving to others.
It has been a tradition at Rogue Valley Corvettes to bring to our November Meeting a food donation to ACCESS. Last year one of our members, Jerry Kreiner, gave us some incite into the work that ACCESS does within our community. They not only collect and distribute food but also help out in other ways. Last year they gave out 38,000 boxes of food which equated to over 2.2 million pounds of food. They sign their clients up to receive 12 boxes of food a year. They also help these people sign up for food stamps, help with rental and utility deposits, and help with rental subsidy. They help to find affordable housing and provide outreach coordinators to help families and seniors.
Many people in our communities are having a tough time this year and with your donations of food to ACCESS it will help ease the burden. Remember to bring your contribution to the November Meeting.
Thank you all for your generosity. AND Happy Thanksgiving to each and every one of you.
Sincerely,
Mary Kush
President
