1/1/2010January Presidents Letter
Happy New Year to all of you and your family.
2009 was a big year for Rogue Valley Corvettes. Our membership grew to 99 people; we had our 4th successful Fall Classic Car Show. We attended many events and car shows throughout the area. I am sure that 2010 will bring us many new and exciting adventures.
We are going to try a couple new things this year. Starting out, the first few months are really iffy for a Corvette Drive so it was suggested that in our “slower” months that we have a “social” get together in addition to the monthly meeting. So in January we will have our first one – thank you, Marilyn. On January 23rd, we will be meeting for lunch at Antonio’s in Eagle Point, and then Marilyn has arranged for a tour of the Butte Creek Mill for us to go on. Check your calendars and join us if you can.
We also want to work on the “Spur of the Moment” type runs. At times there might not be something scheduled and the weather changes to the good and lo and behold we are ready to drive. Oftentimes it is hard to catch everyone via email so we are going to set up a telephone tree so those people interested in these types of runs will be listed on the phone tree and called to let them know about the event. Learn more about this at the meeting.
Speaking of the meeting – it is Saturday, January 9th at noon at La Fiesta in Jacksonville. We will also have nominations for the Board of Trustees at the meeting.
We also hope that many of you volunteer to host some of events this coming Corvette Season. It is always good to have new ideas and new excursions to go on. Be sure to check on the web site for Event Information and listing of who is going. (It is also a nice reminder for what we signed up for.)
I look forward to another banner year for RVC and for spending time with a number of great people. Thank you all for what you do to make RVC so positive.
Sincerely,
Mary Kush
President
