1/12/2010RVC PRESENTS CHECK TO NORTH VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL
On January 12th, RVC members Colin Carnegie, John and Mary Jo Bucchino, Bruce and Colleen Tozer and Bob and Mary Kush were all on hand to present North Valley Skills Class with a check for $2,500. These funds were all raised at the annual Fall Classic All Chevy Car Show held in September at Airport Chevrolet.
While at the school, the students and faculty advisor, Ken Klumpp gave the RVC members a tour of their classrooms. We were all impressed with not only their skills but also with their great enthusiasm for the program.
This year North Valley has 40 students who have attained the level of proficiency needed to go to the state competition for Skills USA. This competition will be held in Corvallis. Besides competing in multiple welding categories, there will also be students participating in Prepared Speaking, Extemporaneous Speech, Job Interviewing, Quiz Bowl and Community Service. We wish all them all success.
North Valley Skills Club will be holding it's first Car Show and Swap Meet on April 17th - so mark your calendars.
