POTLUCK AT PACK'S CABIN - 5/8/2010

The Pack's Retreat

Several Rogue Valley Corvette members attended our meeting at the Pack’s Cabin on May 8th. 22 Corvettes came down the Pack’s driveway and some alternate cars as well. We had a total of 58 members and guests attend.   This was the first event for John and Sharon Warren’s new Corvette. I don’t think Sharon could get the smile off of her face.

We had some multiple weather events going on. Sun, clouds and yes, a few sprinkles. This did not stop our group. I didn’t see a single person get up and move when we had the light sprinkles.

Jim and Penny Oberlander provided their Iron Horse barbecue for us again this year. Bill and Candy Christie prepared the meat with their sauces and a great rub.   Jim and Penny did a great job of cooking it. The meal was enjoyed by all with multiple appetizers, salads, beans, breads and desserts provided by everyone.
We had a short meeting and then played the game of who could hit the marshmallow the farthest with a golf club. All that participated in this had a great time. A few people tried their luck at horse shoes and several just enjoyed visiting and watching the driving marshmallow contest.
This is a very special event for Jim and I and we always look forward to having ourr RVC family enjoy our paradise with us.
A special thank you goes out to Dave and Linda Guches for helping Jim and I get the property prepared for the event. We also want to thank all that helped us clean up.
We look forward to doing it again next year.
